DRAMA CLUB

DRAMA CLUB The Drama Club season burst into life with auditions in which selected girls were introduced to one another through fun icebreaker games. The goal for the year was to uncover and develop strong acting skills. Through improvisation activities such as ‘Freeze’, the girls showcased their creativity and passion, which led to the idea of workshopping a play. It was decided to stage ‘The Disappearance of Elma and Lisa’ by Grade 9 member, Lumari Carstens, and ‘Sewentig is die Nuwe Twintig’ by Grade 8 member, Livia Lategan. The members took charge of elements such as script editing, casting, analysis, character development, stage design, lighting and blocking.

To wrap up the year, the girls had plenty of fun experimenting with costume and stage-acting by revisiting their Term 1 improvisation techniques. A heartfelt thank you to Ms Kirsty Nel, our club co-ordinator, as well as every dedicated member – your enthusiasm and commitment made the year truly memorable for everyone involved.
