CHESS & SQUASH

CHESS At Chess, we kicked off this year with many enthusiastic participants. The team welcomed Mrs Strachan as our coach and enjoyed learning new skills and the challenges that came with it. Three players entered the Central Winelands Chess tournament, and all three qualified for the second round. Leigh Adams and Inke Botma were invited to represent the Cape Winelands Development team in the Brian Raubenheimer Development Tournament. The focus in Term 1 was to prepare for the annual All Girl’s Festival in May. The team, which consisted of four juniors and one senior player, showed significant growth and improvement in our games, making us all proud. We played three league games in Term 2, and our players proved to be challenging opponents. Thank you to every committed team member who made this another successful and fun season.
