HJS GHOLFVERSLAG: EERSTE KWARTAAL Die formaat van deelname van skole in die Boland Gholfunie-distrik is dieselfde as verlede jaar. Die topskole skryf al hulle spanne vir die eerste liga in. Die wedstryde vind op Maandae op verskillende bane in die Boland- area plaas. Die spelformaat gedurende die somer is steeds houespel op ’n nul voorgee. Eerste liga bestaan uit die volgende skole: HJS, Paarl Gimnasium, Parel Vallei, Hottentots-Holland, Paul Roos en Somerset College UITSLAE VAN DIE WEDSTRYDE • HJS vs PRG HJS se eerste span wen met 8 houe (HJS 142; PRG 150). Die tweede span wen met 3 houe (HJS 155; PRG 158). Die derde span speel gelykop (HJS 168; PRG 168). • HJS vs SC HJS se eerste span wen met 17 houe (HJS 145; SC 162). HJS se tweede en derde spanne speel teen mekaar (tweede span 161; HJS se eerste span wen met 18 houe (HJS 144; HHH 162). Die tweede span wen met 19 houe (HJS 161; HHH 180). Die derde span wen met 21 houe (HJS 159; HHH 180). • HJS vs PV HJS se eerste span wen met 16 houe (HJS 146; PV 162). HJS se tweede span wen met 29 houe (HJS 153; PV 182). Die derde span speel 156 houe. • HJS vs GIM HJS se eerste span wen met 12 houe (HJS 153; GIM 165). Die tweede span wen met 17 houe (HJS 163; GIM 180). Die derde span wen met 46 houe (HJS 166; GIM 212). Die Individuele Gholfkampioenskap vind weereens plaas op die laaste Maandag van die kwartaal te Boschenmeer, Paarl. Die 60 topspelers uit die Boland word genooi, onder wie die volgende 19 HJS-spelers: Tyran Snyders, Francois Cilliers, Michael Papenfus, Wiann van der Merwe, Jack Cloete, Tian Heyl, Christian Swart, Thomas Esterhuyse, Juvan Kotze, Janus Roberts, Phillip Coetzee, Wynand Hattingh, Friedrich Bauermeister, Johan Cronjé, Josh Breytenbach, Ajay Klaver, Wessel Roos en Jan StaIs van Rooyen (en John Rabie is genooi). BUITEPRESTASIES Tyran Snyders played in the Nomads Coastal National Junior tournament at Umhlali GC 3-4 January:, which is part of the national U19 schedule. Conditions were windy and Tyran managed to finish in the fourth position over the 54 holes with scores of 76, 69, 72. He is now ranked in the top 20 of the Golf RSA U19 rankings. 17-22 February: Tyran played in the South African Amateur Golf Championship at King David Mowbray GC. Most of South Africa’s top amateur players, including international teams from Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, France and Germany played in this internationally recognised tournament. After the first two rounds Tyran was in the top 50 positions and qualified to play in the Matchplay (knockout) stage for the SA Amateur trophy . In the 1st round he beat one of Scotland’s highly recognised players. In the 2nd round he unfortunately lost to one of Germany’s top players who is ranked in the top 100 in the world rankings. 26 February to 1 March: Tyran played in the South African Stroke Play Championship at De Zalze Golf Club. It was a strong field with top South African & international players. Tyran made the halfway cut and finished in a credible 19th position with scores of 73, 67, 72, 70 = 283 (-5). With this position Tyran will now be ranked on the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Francois Cilliers kwalifiseer vir die SA Amateur Stroke and Match Play en speel tot voor die laaste ronde op King David-gholfklub in Kaapstad. John Rabie is vir die o. 15- Bolandspan gekies om 14-16 Maart aan die Boland Gholfunie se o. 15-uitdaagkompetisie te Katberg Eco Golf Estate deel te neem. Samuel Botha neem aan die TWK o. 13-toernooi deel en eindig eerste met sy bruto telling van 77. TWEEDE KWARTAAL HJS GHOLFVERSLAG: TWEEDE KWARTAAL Ons het hierdie kwartaal drie wedstryde gespeel. Die formaat in die winterliga is Stableford op ’n 18-voorgee en ons het drie spanne hiervoor ingeskryf. HJS vs Boland Landbou te Wellington Eerste span wen met 15 punte (HJS 102; HLB 87). Tweede span wen met 9 punte (HJS 85; HLB 76). Derde span wen met 22 punte (HJS 91; HLB 69). HJS vs SC te Boschenmeer Eerste span wen met 3 punte (HJS 103; SC 100) Tweede span en derde span speel teen mekaar (tweede span 97; derde span 84).
