Vinpro Technical Harvest Report 2025
Grape and wine quality
Grape quality and juice analyses were excellent, with satisfactory acidity and pH levels. The juice settled well and exhibited clear
hues. Sauvignon Blanc, however, showed less pronounced green flavours this vintage, although a good balance between fresh and tropical notes is expected. The quality of the red wines also appears promising.
Summary The 2025 season will be charac terised by favourable late winter rainfall and an extended period of flooding in low-lying vineyards. The season was delayed, with a temperate climate prevailing during the ripening phase. The wine quality promises an exceptional vintage for the Olifants River region.
Photo OL 1: Optimal fruit set was observed across the entire cultivar spectrum, such as these Colombar clusters just after set, near Vredendal.
For the 2025 vintage, both the Chenin Blanc and early Colombar wines display good fruit expression and mouthfeel. – Andries Blake, Chief Executive Officer, Klawer Wine Cellar “
