4M SWEM
The 2025 season was launched with a swimming camp at the beginning of the year, where the team focused on both skills development and team bonding. This set a strong foundation for the season ahead. Interhouse results: • 4 x 25m Individual Medley U14: Sienna Ellis • 4 x 25m Individual Medley U16: Adelmari Barnard • 4 x 25m Individual Medley U19: Summer Jardine • 100m Open Freestyle and Backstroke: Liané Coetzee • 100m Open Breaststroke: Zinni Brynard • Top U14 swimmer and most points for her team: Sienna Ellis • Top U16 swimmer and most points for her team: Adelmari Barnard • Top U19 swimmer: Jessica Smuts Throughout the year, our swimmers participated in numerous competitive events, including the Boland B
League Galas 2 and 3, where La Rochelle proudly secured first place. The team also competed in the Nautilus Gala, the 4G Swimming Gala, the Super League Swim-Off, and concluded the season with the Boland League Swim-Off. At the prestigious 4G Gala, hosted by Bloemhof Girls’ High School, La Rochelle placed 4th overall, with a commendable total of 249 points. Notably, Liané Coetzee (u/14) delivered an outstanding performance, finishing just three points short of being crowned the top u/14 swimmer of the day. The team’s progress this season can be attributed to the expert guidance of Coach Pierre de Roubaix from Lane Leaders, whose professional training greatly enhanced the swimmers’ skills, fitness and overall team strength. We are extremely proud of our swimmers’ dedication, resilience and achievements, and look forward to building on this success in the seasons to come. Kayla van Niekerk
