La Rochelle Yearbook 2025
CROSS COUNTRY
A YEAR OF GROWTH, GRIT AND GUTS
This year also marked the inauguration of Cross Country as an official 4G competition. Although no formal winner was crowned since it was the debut, the Larries made their presence known with grit, grace and yellow pride! It is safe to say that Cross Country at La Rochelle is something to be extremely excited about for years to come! We are especially proud of Lumari de Beer and Sienna Ellis, both of whom represented our school at provincial level. This phenomenal achievement showcases the depth of talent within our team. Their commitment and performances have set an inspiring example for all our runners. As we look back on an unforgettable year, one thing is clear: La Rochelle Cross Country is on the rise. With passion, strength in our strides and unity among our athletes, the future looks particularly promising. To every Larrie who laced up her shoes and gave her all – thank you for helping La Rochelle create history. Ms Michelle Dykman
What an incredible year it has been for our La Rochelle Cross Country Team! What started as a small but passionate group has grown into a strong, motivated and supportive squad that embodies the true Larrie spirit. This year, our numbers increased tremendously, and the enthusiasm and commitment shown by our runners have been nothing short of inspirational. Our training sessions were not only well-attended, but also filled with laughter, determination and team camaraderie, making every run something worth anticipating. During the second and third terms, our athletes took to the cross-country courses in the Boland Schools League, giving their all at every race. Their hard work and consistency paid off in the most rewarding way – La Rochelle won the Boland Schools League for the very first time in its history! This achievement stands as a proud milestone for our school and is a testament to the dedication and solidarity of our runners.
