REDENAARS / PUBLIC SPEAKING ‘Public speaking is not merely about words; it is about courage’ – and this year, the Larries demonstrated that in abundance. On the Tip of Your Tongue. Among the many notable achievements worth celebrating: • Leigh Adams, who was selected for the final rounds of Radikale Redenaars, as well as On the Tip of Your Tongue; • Lumari Carstens, wat deurgedring het na die finale rondtes van beide ATKV en Oppie Tong Af. Vanjaar se deelnemers het beïndruk met toesprake wat geïnspireer, oortuig en vermaak het. Their confidence and creativity shone brightly, transforming Redenaars / Public Speaking into more than just a competition – it became a veritable celebration of voice, expression and the power of words. SCIENCE CLUB In a world full of princesses, be a lab QUEEN!
We are especially proud to announce that the Science Club is part of the Space Science Project, where we are privileged to develop high-order thinking, problem-solving and data-analysis skills. From learning how to capture and interpret data to understanding real-world applications of scientific principles, our members gain experience that stretches far beyond the lab bench. This project empowers us to see science, not only as a subject, but as a way of thinking critically about the world. As a team, we aim to make every session an experience, a memory and an opportunity to grow into stronger, sharper, and more curious scientists. In honour of Marie Curie, the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, we leave you with her timeless wisdom: ‘Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas.’ Zarah van Zyl & Kirsten Gerber
This year, we were thrilled to reintroduce the Science Club to La Rochelle – bigger, better and bolder than ever before! Our mission is to create a space where curiosity thrives, creativity sparks and discovery becomes a shared adventure. Together, we venture beyond the classroom to explore the wonders of science through experiments, discussions and collaborative projects that challenge our minds and fuel our passion. Each week from 14:30 to 16:30, our laboratory (Room 28) transformed into a hub of energy, excitement and exploration. Imagine experiments you have always wanted to try, the thrill of testing new ideas and the joy of seeing science come alive. After all, science is a lot like baking – without licking the spoon!
