La Rochelle Yearbook 2024
AFSKEIDSBOODSKAP – MEV. ELSABÉ CONRADIE
So matrieks, binnekort gaan julle vandag van La Rochelle, julle gister raak. Woon die reunies by. To meet up with old school friends feels like putting on your favourite sweater… it is warm, and it is comfortable, and you can just be yourself. I gave you a couple of challenges this year and you certainly did rise to the occasion. Die ou koperklok was weggesteek in ’n hoekie by die Gasvryheidstudieklas. So matrics, let us remember, the beauty of the “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow” plant lies not in any single flower, but in the cycle itself. Yesterday’s memories, today’s lessons, and tomorrow’s dreams are all connected. Your past has prepared you for this moment, and today equips you with the strength to embrace the future. Class of 2024, as you stand on the threshold of a new chapter, take the lessons of yesterday with you. Live fully today , and face tomorrow with hope and confidence. The world beyond La Rochelle awaits you – ready to see the unique colours you will bring to it.

Finally, we come to “Tomorrow,” symbolized by the white bloom. This is the phase you are stepping into now. And just as the flower is white, this new page in your life is also white, a blank canvas, waiting for you to write your own story. As you leave the familiar halls of this school, you are stepping into the unknown – your tomorrows are full of promise, potential, and possibility. Each one of you has the power to shape your future, to bloom in a way that is uniquely your own. The world is waiting to see your colours – and to me it is important that you will always be yourself. Die woorde is as volg: But I see your true colours Shining through I see your true colours And that’s why I love you (that is why we love you matrics) So don’t be afraid to let them show Your true colours True colours are beautiful Like a rainbow
