MARIMBAS Front: Ninari Kriek, Mrs Christien Marais (Liaison Teacher), Kara Martins Back: Selma Marais, Safiyyah Moerat (Deputy-Chairlady), Mekayla Griffiths (Chairlady) M(L)ARIMBAS The La Rochelle Girls High School Marimba Band, officially launched on April 8th, has made significant strides in its first year. As the new kids on the block, they have quickly established themselves as a vibrant addition to the school’s music department. Since its formation, the band has participated in several events, most notably the All Girl’s Festival. There, they delivered an outstanding performance that received positive feedback from both peers and attendees. This event marked a significant milestone for the band, showcasing their talent and potential.

In addition to their performance at the All Girl’s Festival, the band has successfully completed eight gigs this year. These performances demonstrate the band’s growing popularity and commitment to sharing their music with the broader community. Looking ahead, the Marimba Band aims to expand its repertoire and continue performing at various events within the school and the broader community. Their journey exemplifies the spirit of creativity and collaboration that the school fosters, and they are set to become an integral part of the school’s musical tradition.
