A definite high was the inauguration of the Astro, where our current Larrie teams played against the Old Girls. It was exhilarating playing under the flood lights for the first time. When Covid allowed it, we managed to squeeze in a few other matches throughout the season, which included Hermanus, Paarl Hockey Club and Worcester Gymnasium. In spite of Covid, the Boland trials were still able to take place and even though national tournaments were not allowed to go ahead, the Boland Teams could still participate in a 3-match series against Western Province. The girls who took part were Shamira Titus (u/18A), Caroline Noyce (u/18B), Kiera-Lee Abrahams and Johre Blommetjies (u/16A). As a Matric learner, I am going to miss school hockey tremendously, but I know that La Rochelle Hockey will continue to grow and improve every year, with or without Covid. Katie Raisbeck (Captain)
