We all need courage for something. Depending on our circumstances, there are different types of courage we need, ranging from physical strength and endurance, to mental stamina and innovation. God allows us to experience life situations that require unwavering faith and God-given courage. We have all had to make changes and find new directions, but we found the necessary courage to take action and the endurance to see it through. Ek onthou die stilte op julle eerste dag terug; die senuagtige rondskuif op jou stoel ver van jou maats. Dit was jul oë wat nou gepraat het. Die vele onsekerheid was tasbaar:  Daar was baie trane en baie gesprekke.  Sasha Burt se opmerking, “ We have a lot of time, but less energy, ” het in my bly eggo.  ‘ Covid scares ’, ‘ komorbiditeite ’, die ‘ nuwe normaal ’ – ons woordeskat het uitgebrei.  Layla en Shani het gesprekke met my gevoer oor vele fasette in die skool: die ‘ trivial’ vraag van matriekafskeid of nie? Moet daar reageer word oor sosiale media-posts of nie? En in ’n weerlose oomblik, my amper in trane gehad na ’n tawwe oproep ...  Die Koor se stemme in die gange was stil, maar ons het bly hoop ons kan hulle CD hierdie jaar nog uitreik.  Sportsoorte se name is verswyg en opgeneem in woorde soos ‘oefening’, ‘kondisionering’, ‘kop-skoonmaak’, sodat die Elke’s, Zoë’s, Jamie-Leigh’s en ander kon fiks bly!  Op die voltooide Astro het nog geen balle in die hokkie-doelhok geklap nie, maar daar is gestrek, gespring en gehardloop.
