Debating 2018

Paarl Boys’ High’s first debating team won the the trophy for the second year in a row for being the no 1 senior debating team in the Boland league. They are Kent Fobian, Kian Ontong, Jadin Aaron and Sebastian Kirstein. During the weekends of 11-12 August and 18-19 August three of our teams, namely the senior A and senior C teams, as well as the junior A team, took part in the provincial debating rounds after which two boys were named during the awards ceremony

for their excellent debating skills (Josh Hendricks for being the 9th best junior debator and Kent Fobian as the 3rd best senior debator). Kian Ontong was also invited to be part of the provincial debating trials. All three these learners made the provincial teams for the national rounds in December 2018. Kent Fobian was also chosen for an SA debating team to go to Prague in Czech Republic 13-16 July 2018.
