J. U18 and U20 African Championships (Abijan, Ivory Coast, 16-20 April)
Luciano Custodio was selected by Athletics South Africa to represent the SA Youth for the second successive year in the 400 m hurdles for boys U18 at this championship in Abijan. In the U18 section for youth South Africa was placed first with 15 medals: 8 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze. Kenia came second with only 8 medals.
