F. Paarl Girls’ High Athletics Relay Meeting (Brug Street, Tuesday 30 October 2018)

In 2007 Curt Ruiters received a trophy for the second successive year for the best performance of the meeting for his time of 11,0 s (810) in the 110 m for boys U16 . On Wednesday 26 October 2006 he received a trophy for the best performance for his time of 11,4 s ( 970 ABSA-points ) in the 100 m for boys U15 . Carel du Plessis, former Springbok rugby player, was one of the PBHS athletes who took part at this meeting for the first time on 3 November 1976 when he ran a time of 11,3 seconds in a 100 m race for boys U16 . PARTICIPATION (2009-2018) : Due to unforeseen circumstances PBHS could not take part in this meeting in 2010, ’15, ’16 and ’17. PBHS A combined with Paarl Girls’ High School for a first of a kind in an atheltics relay meeting on Wednesday 20 October 2010. The emphasis is on having fun and to give the boys and girls an opportunity to combine in relay teams. Other teams which took part : • Boland Landbou and La Rochelle • PBHS B and Bloemhof • Drostdy • Paarl Gimnasium • Swartland • Primary schools also took part. Three meeting records were set by the teams of girls. In the 4x400 m U14 mixed relay event the teams of PBHS B and Bloemhof A beat the A-teams of PBHS and Girls’ High. Of the eight events for high school boys our A-team won all seven in which they competed. Boys’ High and Gilrs’ High dominated this meeting thoroughly enjoyed by all the athletes. (Brugstraat, 17-18 Januarie 2019) Ná die versengende hitte van verlede jaar het die weer vanjaar mooi saamgespeel en het ons heerlike weer gehad tydens vanjaar se Interhuis-atletiekbyeenkoms Die welkome reën op dag twee het ons net genoeg kans gegee om die byeenkoms op ’n hoë noot af te sluit. Heelwat uitstekende prestasies is gelewer en in die proses is daar ses nuwe rekords opgestel. Bellevue het vanjaar die bordjies verhang deur eerste te eindig, met Imhoff tweede en Monte Bello derde. Die finale posisies van die onderskeie huise is soos volg: 1. Bellevue 509 2. Imhoff 413 3. Monte Bello 392 4. Villieria 301 5. Berlyn 243 6.
