FRANK MYBURGH TWILIGHT GALA

Swimming is going from strength to strength. Paarl Boys’ won the Twilight Gala Boys’ section and had the top score overall as well. We won interschools swimming against Gimnasium and came second in the Newlands Boys/Girls gala, beating Paul Roos. INTERSCHOOLS GALA Paarl Boys’ won Interschools swimming. Paarl Boys : 263 | Gimnasium : 195 Andre van Huyssteen is the Victor Ludorm, having accumulated the most points for Paarl Boys’ High. Andre broke two individual records. Our relay teams (u.14, u.16 and u.19) broke numerous records which resulted in our victory. Our boys were absolutely amazing. NEWLANDS GALA We went all out to beat Paul Roos(196) and can report : mission accomplished. We beat Paul Roos to move into the second place (Paarl Boys’ High 213) after Rondebosch Boys’ High (233) Then followed Bishops, SACS, Wynberg Boys’ High, DF Malan, Stellenberg, Fairmont and Stellenberg High School

The gala normally takes place in Malmesbury, but had to be moved to Worcester as a result of the drought in especially the Swartland area. The following boys broke records in their respective events: Andre van Huyssteen, Pierre Pretorius, Eric Slabbert, Wynand
