PHOTO 223. Specific and characteristic abnormalities associated with corky bark are revealed through hardwood indexing using LN 33 as indicator cultivar. Note the shoots that have not lignified, the intense curling of leaf edges and especially the onset of cracks induced on thickened (barrel-shaped) internodes.
