The performance of the different mixes was on the whole very good, but three stood out in terms of weed suppression and stand density and height: (a) rye and lupins, (b) medics, clover and lupins, and (c) triticale, oats, radish, vetch and white mustard. The mixture consisting of oats and peas was poor in growth and did not effectively suppress weed growth.
