BESPROEIING / IRRIGATION

Ongeveer 72% van wingerde wat vir wyn druiwe verbou word, word tans deur middel van drupbesproeiing besproei. Ander vorms van besproeiing, asook dié van droëlandver bouing (geen besproeiing), het die laaste 15 jaar drasties afgeneem (sien figuur 10). Die koste van verskillende besproeiingstelsels word in Tabel 9 saamgevat. Hierdie is al gemene riglyne en sluit slegs die bogrondse materiaal en sublyne binne die blok in, wat ook na gelang van verskillende blokuitlegte sal wissel.

Approximately 72% of vineyards that are cultivated for wine grapes are currently irrigated using drip irrigation. Other irrigation methods, as well as those used for dry land cultivation (no irrigation), have decreased drastically over the last 15 years (refer to Figure 11). The cost of various irrigation systems are summarised in Table 9. These are general guidelines and only include topsoil material and sub-lines within the block, which may also vary according to different block layouts.
