Table grape rootstocks in South Africa
APPENDICES
APPENDIX 1 Tables of table grape rootstock trial results APPENDIX 2 POSTER Structure and design of ARC Infruitec Nietvoorbij trials All trials conducted were laid out according to standard statistical design. In these trials, treatments (scion and rootstock cultivars) were in experimental unit sizes ranging from four to six vines per unit. Treatments were randomly repeated in the sites and blocks. The trial blocks were cultivated and managed by the participating producers. Vineyard practices applied in the trial blocks were as generally performed for the cultivar in the specific area. Interpretation of tables Scion-rootstock combinations are arranged in descending order. Student’s t-test of least significant difference (LSD) at a 5% level of significance was used to rate treatment averages for rootstocks in three groups, namely the best, intermediate and weakest group. The “a” series was assigned as one group and the last letter’s range as another group to differentiate between the best and the weakest group. Summary of major findings from rootstock trials that have been concluded from 1989-2016
