EQUESTRIAN As I come to the end of my journey as captain of our Equestrian team, I feel incredibly proud and grateful to reflect on everything we have achieved this year. Leading such a dedicated and talented group of riders has been both an honour and a highlight of my school career, and I am beyond grateful to have had this opportunity. Our riders have taken part in a wide range of events, from saddle seat and Western Mounted Games to polocrosse, SANESA competitions, dressage and eventing. Each show has given our equestrians the chance to display their versatility, commitment and passion for the sport. I am thrilled to say that their hard work and determination have been rewarded with excellent results. Lara Myburg qualified and competed at the SANESA nationals in Kyalami, Gauteng, in October 2025, where she finished 1st in her two jumping classes, riding Mistry. We are so incredibly proud of the results she has delivered. Rebecca McCarthy delivered excellent results at the SANESA regional competition, however it

was in Dressage South Africa’s graded Dressage that she finished 1st and 3rd overall in the individual Prelim division, riding Evergreen’s Foxtrot and Capital Rouge for the 2024 year and in 2025 she achieved individual and Team 1st place, this time riding Capital Rouge, as well as a team 3rd place in the Junior Novice class on Evergreen’s Foxtrot. While our inter-schools dressage and show-jumping will only take place at the end of November, I have great faith in our team’s ability to defend our 2024 trophies. As I step aside for our new captain, I want to say thank you to every team member for your countless hours of training and your passion for the sport. To our coaches, families and teachers, thank you for believing in us and helping create a community built on love for horses, hard work, and partnership.
