Day, arranging the Schultütenaustausch , with one of our committee members participating in the German exchange student programme, and organising our World Languages Night in co-operation with Paarl Girls’ High School. Additionally, a successful fundraiser was held for the German Committee this year. The above-mentioned activities would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of Ms Carmari Marais and my fellow committee members. I thank each one for their tremendous commitment and gemütlichkeit .

In Term 3, we continued our tradition of the Galette des Reines . We handed out the Tricolore cake, and Aimee Farmer (Grade 11) discovered the hidden coin within it. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the French Society, Eva Smit and Mila Steyn, whose dedication was invaluable in making our initiatives successful. We also owe a heartfelt thank you to Monsieur Frans Botha-Visser for his support and guidance. I extend my best wishes to the French Society of 2024. I have every confidence that they will continue to uphold our traditions and bring fresh ideas to enrich our community even further. French Society Bonjour à toutes

As I reflect on 2023, I am filled with gratitude for the privilege of serving in the French Society. C’était une année riche en expériences passionnantes, et en célébration de la langue et de la culture française. Je souhaite saisir cette occasion pour partager les moments forts de cette année. Our year commenced in dramatic fashion as we organised the French Hat Parade for the Grade 8 learners. The atmosphere was electric, and the worthy winner, Tyrah Haefele, really sparkled with her creativity. Collaboration was the theme of Term 2. We hosted a memorable World Languages Night , where we celebrated a rich tapestry of foreign languages which included French, Italian, German, and Spanish. The evening was a testament to the power of cultural exchange, with games, quizzes, and a Spanish lesson that left everyone with a deeper appreciation for linguistic diversity.
