GREEN COMMITTEE Even amidst COVID, the EnvironmentaLarries and the Green Committee have been very busy. We kept the eco- conscious Larrie-spirits alive by actively sharing and posting on social media platforms during the lockdown. In August we once again approached Le Naturel for their amazing school fundraiser initiative where 35% of proceeds are given to the school. The committee used this opportunity to raise R7 000 for Vulpro , an organization dedicated to the protection and rehabilitation of South Africa’s endangered vulture species. Vultures are vital to healthy eco-systems as they help to remove dead material along with the diseases that they may carry. In October we combined the celebration of Garden Day with La Rochelle’s 160th birthday. All the Larries pitched in to make beautiful flower crowns to symbolise the 160 years of excellence, blooming and flowering together. This year, more than ever before, we have seen how our human actions influence our environments and that we must always grow through what we go through!  MICHELLE NEL
