Fe deficiencies in grapevines are not common in South Africa due to the absence of free lime in most vineyard soils, as well as the relatively good resistance of the grapevines thereto on calcareous soil. It is however, found localised in calcareous or soils with high pH values in the Breede River, Olifants River and Lower Orange River Valleys (Figure 17).
