By the grace of the good Lord, Paarl Boys’ High was able to acquire the property across from the Bellevue dining hall in November last year. This was the result of years of sound financial management by the PBHS senior management team and the financial department – under the able leadership of Ms Ursula Windt – and after proper consultation with the relevant, knowledgeable parties. The house was built in 1902 and is therefore one of the most historic properties in Paarl. Die huis is opgeknap deur mnr Ettienne Cronjé, die skool se hoof van kapitale projekte. Die naam “Rozenfontein” is,

soos in die geval van alle ander HJS-koshuise, gebaseer op die tradisionele gebruik om ’n koshuis te vernoem na een van die bekende historiese plase van destyds in die omgewing. In 2024 neem die nuut-aangestelde koshuisvader, mnr Pieter van Zyl, saam met vier toesighouers en 25 studente sy intrek. As it is quite a substantial property, Rozenfontein provides ample opportunity for future expansion and may house more staff members, students and even a classroom or two. We wish all those who dwell in it good fortune.
