Ladies’ Brag

As part of the Interschools festivities this year, the annual Ladies’ Brag function was held on 2 August at Ashanti Estate. This year’s theme was An Unforgettable Ride along the Amalfi Coast in True La Dolce Vita Style . Just fewer than 300 guests – moms, coaches and teachers of our boys in blue – enjoyed an evening of dinner and dancing at a sophisticated and elegant Italian-themed event. The Ladies’ Brag is a fundraising event for our school. All proceeds go towards keeping the costs of the Matric dance as low as possible, as well as towards the gift the Matrics give the school once they leave. This gift is in the form of something the school needs – a drinking fountain, for example – from which all learners

can benefit. To raise money, the Ladies’ Brag committee (consisting of Sam Droomer, Sharon Woolward, Claudette du Plessis, Charlene Haarhoff, Elke Brink, Amanda van Zyl, Helene van Zuydam, Lindi du Toit and Else le Roux) found sponsors and ran a raffle event which consisted of wonderful prizes. The main prize was jewellery from Prins and Prins Jewellers valued at R20 000. The lucky winner of this fabulous prize was Lindi du Toit. Numerous other prizes were up for grabs as well thanks to the generosity of all our sponsors. All in all the evening was a great success. We look forward to hosting next year’s Ladies’ Brag and trust that it will be another unforgettable event.
