The swimmers of Paarl Boys’ High took the plunge at the first Boland Relay Gala on 26 January, securing an overall second place. Francois Bester achieved a second place finish in the 50 m breaststroke event. Bester continued to shine in the relay competitions, guiding the U14, U16 and U19 teams to respectively second, second and first places in the 4 x 25 m breaststroke relays. The 4 x 25 m individual medley (IM) event saw Retief Hugo surging to victory, claiming the top spot. Interschools Gala Our annual Interschools competition took place on Monday, 5 February. The swimming team faced off against Paarl Gymnasium and delivered an impressive performance. The final score tallied with PBHS amassing a total of 243 points, while Paarl Gym secured 154 points, resulting in a decisive victory for PBHS with a winning margin of 89 points over Paarl Gymnasium.
