Blue Day-gholfdag HJS Paarl se Blue Day-gholfdag het op Donderdag 19 Oktober te Boschenmeer-gholfklub plaasgevind. Ons ouers en oudleerders loop nie sommer hierdie jaarlikse uitblinkgeleentheid mis nie en al 32 vierballe is vroeg reeds uitverkoop. ’n Kenmerk van die dag is die passievolle betrokkenheid van ons ongelooflike borge wat bygedra het met fantastiese pryse, veilingsitems, hul teenwoordigheid op die gholfbaan en die saamkuier by die funksie na afloop van die gholf. Die wenners van vanjaar se Blue Day-gholfdag was die vierbal onder leiding van Reuben Rifle. Order of the Blue Blazer At the celebration of Paarl Boys’ High’s 2023 Founders’ Day marking the school’s 155th year of existence, Frans Malherbe (matric 2009) was awarded the Order of the Blue Blazer, the greatest honour that Paarl Boys’ High can bestow on an individual or group, for exceptional performance in the field of sports and support to the school. Boishaai TV Die Boishaai TV-span het weereens vanjaar TV dekking gegee aan die belangrikste sport, kultuur- en saalbyeenkomste. HJS se ooreenkoms met Supersport Schools onder leiding van Willem van de Merwe het gesorg dat feitlik al HJS se aktiwiteite gestroom is.

Brug Street Upgrades At the end of 2022 and the start of 2023, our Brug Street clubhouse underwent a much needed upgrade in preparation for the upcoming events. The improvements, such as the replacement of old flooring with laminated flooring, moving the bar to optimise space, upgrading windows to aluminium frame sliding doors and replacing the front door, significantly enhanced the overall clubhouse experience. The decision to upgrade the changing rooms and repaint the entire clubhouse, both inside and out, reflects a commitment to creating a more appealing and functional environment for players and visitors alike. The addition of a 3D Boys’ High badge for night visibility contributes to the overall aesthetic appeal and identity of the clubhouse. The replacement of the old fencing with new and improved beta-fencing not only improves the appearance, but also enhances the security and overall safety of the facility. We would like to acknowledge and express our gratitude to the sponsors, parents and helpers for their contributions. We recognise the collective effort that went into making these upgrades possible. The support undoubtedly played a crucial role in the success of the project. In addition, we upgraded the scoreboard to a digital high-definition LED screen. These renovations and enhancements will contribute to a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved with Brug Street.

SPCA Outreach Die graad 8- en 9-groepe het net voor die wintervakansie saam met die prefekte ’n kosinsamelingsprojek geloods. Die doel van die projek was om die DBV van Paarl genoeg kos te gee om hulle deur die winter te kry. Die kos is aan hulle oorhandig met die slagspreuk “HJS gee om vir diere”. Dankie aan elke ouerhuis wat sy hand in die sak gesteek het om na ons diere in die gemeenskap om te sien. Dit was ’n baie suksesvolle poging en gaan beslis ’n permanente projek op ons seuns se skoolkalender wees. Op die foto oorhandig mnr N de Vries en die seuns die ingesamelde items aan die DBV.
