Body boarding

During the September holidays, John Krige participated in the SA Bodyboarding championships at Onrus. John competed in the junior division (15-17 years) where he won a Gold medal and thus became South African Junior Bodyboarding Champion.

Mountain Biking

The Paarl Boys’ High MTB team had an excellent year, the highlights of which were their selection into the SA Schools Nationals Competition in Brits and beating Grey College in Bloemfontein by a large margin. Noteworthy individual achievements include Samuel Cleary and Jaco van Zyl finishing 1st and 3rd in their age group at the SA Champs XCO (Olympic Cross Country format) in Gauteng, respectively. Lood Goosen also participated in the MTB African Continental Championships.

Congratulations to the six Boishaaiers who were awarded provincial colours by the Western Cape Cycling Association (WCCA) for one or more of the following disciplines: XCO, XCM (Cross-Country Marathon) and Road Cycling. They are: Lood Goosen (XCO + XCM), Tiaan Manefeldt (XCO), Samuel Cleary (XCO + Road Cycling), Jaco van Zyl (XCO), Ruan Portwig (XCM).
