Paarl Boys’ High U14A team at Reddam House Pitcairn Cup The U14A water polo team achieved an impressive eighth place out of 21 teams at the prestigious Reddam House Pitcairn Cup held 17-19 February. Among the standout moments were the team’s noteworthy draws against strong opponents SACS and Paul Roos. Kéan van Zyl Kéan has secured a coveted position on the Western Province Schools water polo U14A team. His talent will be put to the test as he represents the Western Province Schools team at the upcoming Schools Water Polo South Africa Interprovincial Tournament in Gqeberha 9-13 December. Rondebosch Boys’ High Festival Results Friday : • Lost 0-1 against Wynberg Boys’ High School • Lost 7-0 against Reddam Saturday : • Won 4-1 against Rondebosch B • Lost 1-4 against Rondebosch A • Won 5-3 against St Andrews College • Won 3-0 against Pretoria Boys’ High • Won 6-0 against Parktown Boys’ High • Won 3-1 against Wahoo Wanderers Club • Lost 0-3 against Grey High Sunday : • Won 7-4 against Affies in the Plate quarter-final • Lost 3-10 against PRG in the Plate semi-final Monday : • Beat Warriors 4-3 on penalties after being 3-3 at full time, securing 11th place out of 20 teams Hilton College Water Polo Tournament The Paarl Boys’ High U14A water polo team displayed outstanding skill and sportsmanship at the Hilton College water polo tournament held from 28 October to 1 November. The team’s performance secured them a position in the top eight. Results: • Drew 4-4 against Michael House; won 7-5 after penalty shots • Won 8-7 against St John College • Lost 1-6 against Westville Boys’ High • Won 4-0 against Hilton College

We congratulate these athletes on their remarkable achievements and look forward to more successes in the future. Water Polo Paarl Boys’ High teams faced formidable opponents such as Herzlia, Pinelands, Camps Bay and Elkanah House. Against Herzlia: • U14B: Lost 2-12 U14A • U15: Lost 4-8 • U19: Lost 2-10 Against Pinelands: • U14B: Won 10-4 • U15: Won 8-7 • U19: Lost 8-10 Against Camps Bay: • U14B: Won 10-0 • U16: Draw 4-4 • U19: Won 6- 5 Against Elkanah House: • U15A: Won 15-0 • U15B: Won 16-0 • U19B: Won 7-6 • U19A: Lost 6-7 Despite facing challenges, the U14B team displayed admirable resilience, securing a convincing victory against Pinelands. The U15 and U19 teams both faced setbacks against Herzlia and Pinelands, but demonstrated commendable effort and sportsmanship throughout. Noteworthy performances include the U14B team’s outstanding 10-0 triumph against Camps Bay. The U16 team drew against Camps Bay. A special mention goes to the U15 and U19 teams for their hard-fought victories against Pinelands, illustrating their ability to rise to the occasion when faced with challenging opponents. U14 A Water Polo Teams The U14A water polo team from Paarl Boys’ High faced a challenging start to their A-league campaign, meeting SACS on Friday, 27 January. Despite their best efforts and unwavering bravery, the team unfortunately conceded to SACS with a final score of 0 -13. The boys, however, exhibited commendable determination, fighting relentlessly until the final whistle. A squad of 10 skilled players from PBH embarked on a journey to East London for a water polo tournament held from 10 to 12 February. Their performance in the tournament unfolded as follows: Friday 10 February: • Won 3-2 against Stirling • Lost 1-5 against Selborne A
