Twenty-four years have passed since the first Boland Central Athletics Champi- onship was held on the ground track of the Dal Josafat Stadium on 8 March 1996 . As in the past, the best athletes did not always compete against each other this year because most of the events consisted of various races determined by times. Once again our athletes did exceptionally well. A summary of the positions attained during the past three years during this meeting for the sake of comparison:

F. PRESTIGE ATHLETICS MEETING (Dal Josafat Stadium, Wednesday 12 February 2020) For the eighth successive year Boys’ High and Girls’ High (BHGH) took part in the competition as a combined team. This year this team won the competition for the second successive year. THE FINAL SCORES OF THE COMBINED TEAMS WERE: BGHG 894 PGim 880 BloemRoos 736 • The following PBHS athletes won two events: Haygen Opperman ( U14 ), Leon- ardo van der Werf ( U15 ), Luciano Custodio en Herman Visser (both U19 ). • Divan Fuller improved a meeting record in the javelin for boys U15 with a dis- tance of 59,88 m ( 788 points ). • BHGH won the U14, U15 and U17 sections with PGim as the winner of the U19 section. • Boys’ High athletes obtained 23 first places, 18 second places, 19 third places, 20 fourth places, 15 fifth places and 13 sixth places excluding the positions obtained by the different relay teams.
