C. HENTIES FRUIT JUICES – PBHS INVITATIONAL MEETING (Brug Street, 31 January 2020) This year it was the 48th time that this meeting took place. In very good weather conditions, our athletes could give of their best. Early in the evening we experienced a few problems when load shedding kicked in at 18:00. Though a huge generator was hired, it could not always supply in the demand for electricity and from time to time the whole field and pavilion was wrapped in pitch darkness. Schools that participated this year in the boys’ division were Wynberg BHS, Rondebosch BHS, SACS, PRG and Worcester Gymnasium. In the girls’ division the schools that participated were Paarl GHS, Bloemhof GHS, Rhenish GHS, Worcester Gymnasium and only the girls of Stellenberg High School. Three records were improved in total but none by a Boys’ High athlete. Also, as far as the two prizes are concerned for the best performances in a field and a track item, none were awarded to a Boys’ High athlete. From all the items for boys’ athletes PBHS obtained 20 first places, 14 second places and 13 third places. B. TOP BOYS ATHLETICS MEETING

(Brug Street, Thursday 23 January 2020) For a number of years Boys’ High was looking for an opportunity where our athletes can participate against some of the best boys’ athletes. Messrs Girt Geldenhuys and Rayno Snyman and a few other people put their heads together and came up with the TOP BOYS MEETING. The five other schools that were invited to take part at this meeting, are: Paul Roos Gymnasium, Boland Agricultural School, Oakdale Agricul- tural School, Technical School Drostdy and Outeniqua High School. At the end of the meeting four R500 prizes were awarded for the best junior and senior performances in the field and track items. Luciano Custodio won the prize for the best senior performance in a track item with his 54,5 s in the 400 m hurdles for boys u.19 (874 points) . Boys’ High also won the floating trophy for the team that scored the highest total number of points . The totals of the participating teams were as follow: 1. PBHS 292 2. PRG 218 3. Oakdale 215 4.
