The first term of 2021 has been an eventful time for the English Debating squad of Paarl Boys’ High. On 26 March we had our very first Debating camp, during which the new debaters met and practised with coach Danré Muller, along with the rest of the squad. In preparation for the official Boland Debating League we also took part in ‘friendly’ debating matches in Stellenbosch which culminated

Boys’ High and Girls’ High initiated the so-called The Family Hour Debates on Wednesday afternoons where debaters take part in junior and senior teams, one week at Boys’ High and the next on the girls’ turf. Entertaining topics are selected to ensure that learners have fun. We have a variety of adjudicators ranging from deputy principals to some of our senior debaters. At the start of term 4 we invited Paarl Girls’ High for a year-end braai at our swimming pool, where some of our top performers and performances in general were highlighted.
