PHOTO 215. An example where dead, coarse bark was not subject to normal shedding, in order to reveal characteristic abnormalities associated with corky bark. A cross section of the dead trunk (see Photo 216) revealed obvious signs of stem grooving – which may be indicative of the joint occurrence of these two diseases.
